Amélie DAUBIGNY (Paris 1796-1861). Presumed portrait of Henriette-Adélaïde VIEL. Gouache on ivory, circa 1840, signed lower right.8 x 7 cm. Embossed leather back. The portrait presents Henriette-Adélaïde Viel in a blue dress, bustier and lace headdress. The right arm is resting on the back of an armchair on which a black shawl is thrown. Henriette-Adélaïde Viel, daughter of Louis-Antoine Viel, sub-prefect of Briançon and prefect of Chinon, officer of the Legion of Honour; and of Anne de Liégeard. She married Eugène Bois, deputy of Finistère from 1865-1870.
