NEVERS, Louis NEPPEL factory Part of a TABLE SERVICE, circa 1840 Porcelain with varied floral decoration, printed in carmine; monogrammed in gold "C C" interlaced It includes 17 dinner plates, a small chip on a plate edge 6 soup plates, 4 oval dishes, a small chip 5 egg cups, 2 covered circular terrines, 1 sauceboat with attached tray 4 serving dishes L. : 28 cm others bigger L. : 31 cm 1 large fish dish with its drip tray (rare) L. : 33, 5 cm. Stamped on the reverse: "Ls NEPPEL/A NEVERS". Slight wear to the gold Louis NEPPEL, is the founder in 1816 of the porcelain factory of Nevers. His bust is is in the museum of this city. The Neppel factory, which employed in its workshops one hundred and twenty workers, produced pieces until 1909. The pieces produced are white, because the Neppel workshop sent all its productions, once molded, to another Neppel workshop in Paris, in charge of to decorate them. He had registered a patent for "decorating the porcleaine under cover". The Frédéric Blandin Museum in Nevers Blandin, in Nevers, has a cup and a saucer, signed Neppel, and a painting made in 1910 by Lamontagne, on which 1910 by Lamontagne, on which the painter represented the molding workshop of the Nevers porcelain factory of porcelain.
