Charles PILLET (1869-1960) ? Important sculpture in bronze with brown patina representing a bacchante carrying in the mouth of Bacchus represented in bust, for symbolic offering the wine and holding in the other hand a bunch of grapes. Base in grey veined marble. Titled on the front of the bronze "HALF SATISFIED". Signed on the back " Pillet ". Probably early 20th century. The theme of the offering to Bacchus is reminiscent of the work of the famous sculptor Albert-Ernest Carrier-Belleuse (1824-1887). Dimensions : Total height : 93 cm ; W : 48 cm ; D : 47,5 cm.
