Auguste DESCH (Nancy 1877-Laxou 1924) Nude on the couch Pencil lead on Canson paper, signed in the right center. Circa 1920 23 x 30 cm Auguste Desch entered the Nancy Ecole des Beaux-Arts and was a pupil of Jules Larcher. He then entered the Ecole National des Beaux-Arts in Paris and was a pupil of Léon Bonnat. From 1906, he appeared at the Salon des Artistes Français, and in 1915 he exhibited at the Exposition, Universelle de San-Francisco. During the war, he began the art of camouflage to put his talents at the service of France. After the war, he settled in Laxou in Lorraine, where he died on August 28, 1924 at the age of 47.
