after Jean-Baptiste Jacques AUGUSTIN (1759-1832) Portrait of King Louis XVIII Engraving of the king in blue dress with epaulette, bearing the plaques of the orders of the Holy Spirit, the order of Saint Lazarus, and the cross of the Legion of Honour and Saint Louis. Beneath the portrait on the cartouche are, in the centre, the arms of France and Navarre surrounded by the King's Orders and stamped with the Royal Crown. Nice proof before the letter (trial proof before engraving the text) Restoration Period Small stains. 26 x 19.5 cm Jean-Baptiste Jacques AUGUSTIN (1759-1832) was the official painter of the court of Napoleon I and the ordinary painter of the cabinet of Louis XVIII in 1821.
